A Bountiful Harvest

Hello Friends!
Sending out a "Happy Monday" to everyone!  Some of you may remember this Fall Centerpiece from a previous post (9/2009). This centerpiece is one of my favorites!

Thank you for your emails regarding the
Fall Centerpiece I created a few weeks ago from
(The Twelve Days of Creative Fall).  This tutorial will give you a little more creative inspiration!

For a stunning multi-level arrangement, combine fresh flowers, seasonal fruits and dried materials. Select autumn's classic forms: field-grown wheat, pumpkins, Indian corn, apples and fall flowers.

Materials:
8 1/2" diameter floral foam ring(must be slightly larger than the top diameter of your larger vase)
8" X 12" clear glass cylinder base
2" X 6" clear glass cylinder vase.
Harvest vegetables, picks, wheat or whatever you choose to use or have on hand!

Directions:
1. Fill a large clear cylindrical vase with produce and top it with a floral foam ring! Soak the floral-foam ring in water for 15 minutes.

2.Center the small cylinder vase inside the larger one. The small vase acts as a spacer. Fill your cylinder with harvest vegetables!

3.Place the Foam ring on top of the large cylinder vase. The ring will be covered with dried and fresh floral materials.

4. Evenly arrange the pieces on the foam ring, inserting picks as you go.

5. Insert the dried grass, wheat or whatever you choose to use through the floral ring and into the small cylinder vase.

So many possibilities with the beauty of nature!

Pottery Barn Inspiration

Welcome Friends......Welcome Spring!
Recently I visited a Pottery Barn Store at the beautiful
Biltmore Fashion Park Outdoor Mall in Phoenix, Arizona.
There are more than 70 shops at Biltmore Fashion Park, organized into a cosmopolitan feeling area where you walk through gardens and fountains on brick walkways to unique and beautiful retail shops.
I was so inspired!
Lemons, Green Apples, Flowers, Birds and Nests were everywhere.

I was with my family. It didn't take long to figure the girls needed to do their thing
and the boys needed to do theirs!
The boys went on their way visiting the Apple Store and my two daughters stayed with me.
I left with the feeling of wanting Spring all around me.
The boys left with wanting the new electronic gadgets, so if they were writing this post
we would see a lot of Apple Inspiration, like the Hero Ipod two, since they are not writing this post,
you will see a little Pottery Bran Inspiration.......

 My favorite..Pepsi crates!
I left Pottery Barn with so many new ideas and inspiration that left me
wanting to create more nests with eggs!
So, I'm back in my breakfast nook creating more Spring,
along with 900 more projects waiting to get finished!
Do you ever feel...
Once Upon A Time There Was Time
Have a beautiful Spring Day where ever you are!

Frame A Smile

Welcome back to more ideas to create and share for
A Happy Valentines!
 Frame a Smile!
Especially CUTE for BABY, CHILDREN'S ROOM or NURSERY!
This is where the Frames started
 Frames are simple,
A plain, 2-3 inch flat frame surface works best.
I found my frames at Marshall's, they vary in price from $3.00 to $6.99.
(I still need to finish the large one)
This is what the frames looked BEFORE the DECOR-
Materials used: Mod Podge, Heavy Weight Textured Card Stock, Tulle,
Pearl Beads, straight pins, glue sticks and Ribbon.
You can find directions and endless ideas for adorable flowers HERE .
You can also see a Fabric Flower TUTORIAL UTUBE video HERE.
The Red Frames are great for Valentines!
I added red pins to the center of my handmade fabric flowers.
My Frame is covered with textured glittered red card stock paper.
You can make the Tulle flowers the same way as the fabric flowers, they are especially cute
with frilly pink paper!
I made small green leaves to accent the flowers, I made them on my sewing machine.
Place two green fabrics right sides together, start sewing a leaf pattern, trim and turn.
Pinch the leaf together and glue into place.
Paper from La Creme Stack (Premium Stacks) DCWV
I love the heavy texture of the paper.
I added a small doily with the handmade fabric flowers, along with
a tiny trim of black rick rack and printed ribbon that reads:
Cherish, Love, Joy.

I must say, they are addicting, the possibilities are endless when it comes to
coordinating patterns and colors!

CHERISH the one's you LOVE!
For Cupcake Recipe, see previous posts.
Enjoy!

Children's Artwork

Welcome to a fun Mother/ Daughter craft!
Turn your Vintage Doll and Barbie clothes into artwork! I still have a few barbie clothes from my childhood.
How about you?

Tips:
1.  Use shadow box's or a frame with some depth.
2.  The scrapbook paper works well with the card stock weight.
3.  Adhere the Barbie clothes with double stick tape.
4.  For a retro style, you can paint polka dots onto the frames.
5. Be sure to date your frames for your daughter.
6. It is also fun to include the latest fashions of today. (A keepsake for the future)

Enjoy!
