I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends!
Welcome to my dear friend named Kilz! I have come to love Kilz, a latex primer that works great for so many painting projects! It has become my best friend when restoring WALLS and FURNITURE from dark permanent markers and crayons and everything else!
This dresser has had some rough years with my little boys. My boys have colored on it, and have also put stickers and of course engraved their name! The picture doesn't show you all the crayola marks, inside the drawers are some painted masterpieces!
I decided to take it over and I painted it black with off white for the drawers! I'm going to do some decorative painting on the drawers. I now use it in my sewing room! The boys have bigger closets with a lot of shelves, so good bye to dressers!
I also covered it with a thick glass that you can easily have cut to size from any glass or hardware store! I also added one of my pieced quilts underneath the glass! My new dresser works great for organizing fabric and I love the glass top!
You can change your fabrics and also use pictures and other seasonal decor under the glass!
Kilz works well for many projects! I rarely sand down furniture! Happy Painting!

"Sew" Happy!
Welcome Summer, polka dots and pink daisys!
Today, we created a few skirts for one little happy girl that loves to play in skirts! They are "sew" fun to make! The "Fairycastle" skirt turned out pretty long and it is a very full skirt! The little girl wanted it long like a princess! It's a party skirt!
When she puts her skirt on, the magic begins! She can't hold still! She brings a smile to my face! I don't think I've ever mentioned how fun it is to have a little girl! =)
Since we had so much fun making the "fairy castle" skirt, we couldn't resist making a "Hi-Ho cherry-O" skirt! This skirt is not as full and has a drop waist, it is a great skirt for everyday-comfortable! Through trial and error, we have our sizes figured out! These skirts are great for summer and fast to make, you can make a skirt within an hour!
There is a great patchwork little girls skirt with tuitorial directions from Moda Bake Shop.com
You will find a printer friendly pattern that is easy to follow and so cute!
Happy sewing! Let the magic begin!

Boys are a JOY!
I use to have a painted quote on my wall "There's A quiet place in Heaven for a Mother of Boys!" Through the years, I have changed my thinking. I hope its not quiet, I hope its the same noise and laughter that has filled the halls of my home with pure delight! I have loved being a mother of these four boys! Today, I Rejoice with gratitude to have these four boys in my life! There is something special about boys, despite the challenges, and endless energy one must have to keep up! I never knew the sweetness and tenderness of little boys until I was blessed with four of my own! Thank you boys for your JOY!

Get her the Mother of all sports gifts This Mothers day
Mother’s day is the ideal day to show your Mom just how you care and how much you appreciate her. Whether she is a diehard sports fan or simply a devoted Mother, willing to devolve into your own world of sport, you needn’t look any further.Mothers DayIt is of course imperative that you show her that you have not forgotten her this year, but equally, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to

Teacher Appreciation Week
It's time to thank our teachers! My boys have great teachers, they are kind, loving and dedicated teachers. We have decided to give our special teachers five days of gifts with thoughts! Of course, we put their gifts in "A Bag of JOY". Some of the gifts we chose to put in the interior pockets of the bag are:
Monday- Hand written Thank you noteTuesday- Slipper Socks- " No one can fill your shoes"
Wednesday- Chocolate candy- "You are so sweet"
Thursday- Candle in decorated Terra Cotta pots- "You light up my day"
Friday- Box of crayons- "You color my world"!
My boys had fun wrapping each gift and writing on the tags. A big THANKS to TEACHERS!
We appreciate you!
PS. My sons' class is going on a field trip to Sea World this month, my son had big smiles when I showed him the fish fabric! Oh, the joy of fabric! =)
