Sunshine In My Soul

 Welcome back to
Twelve Days Of Creative Fall
Today, I'm sharing a little sunflower inspiration.
I found these hanging Sunflower Grapevine Topiary Balls at Tai Tan Trading
  this past summer in Utah.
I just love them!
The colors of sunflowers are a wonderful burst of color!
You can easily make these sunflower grapevine balls.

Simply hot glue your sunflowers to the grapevine ball.
Hang them to chandeliers, ceilings or wherever you choose to bring a lot
of Holiday cheer!
I can't help but think of Fall Happiness when I look at these!
Speaking of Fall Happiness, this is what my little daughter does to cool off
well into the month of October.

Welcome to my FALL SUNFLOWER tree from last year.
I'm looking for new twigs for a new Halloween tree.
Watch out neighbors. (just kidding-maybe not) :)
Last year, I found these twigs in a pile ready to be hauled off to the garbage.
I was so excited to find them, they were perfect!
I spray painted the twigs black.

I use a lot of sunflowers in my fall decorating, along with
my fabric stuffed pumpkins.

"Goodbye Summer Hello Fall"
As you can see, the sun continues to shine brightly in Arizona!
I know my Arizona friends are thinking "Goodbye Summer Hello Fall" is not for a long time.
We are celebrating Fall no matter what the temperatures bring.
Our beautiful Fall weather will come!
Do you love to decorate with the
COLORS OF FALL?
Throughout my home, you will see the colors of Fall.
My favorite quilts are the ones that bring out FALL.

I love how quilts can remind us what truly is important.
Every quilt has a story.
Every story can teach us something.

Happy Fall everyone!
Thanks for visiting!

Have a Beautiful Sunshiny Day!

Believe...Miracles Do Happen Part Two

A few months ago, our family visited the Nursery NICU at St. Joseph's Hospital where my
little miracle daughter was born in 1987.
Brandi, my sweet little baby girl,  weighed one pound, seven ounces.
( She was born at 24 weeks gestational age)
Brandi spent six long months at St. Josephs Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
Today, she is as healthy and beautiful as can be! :)
                                    -----------------------------------------------------------
My daughter has been working on preemie quilts.
I wanted to share her creations with you, in hopes you may be inspired to do the same.
 The quilts are greatly appreciated!
I will never forget the items that were shared with us when my little daughter was in NICU.
(You may remember my post about making preemie quilts)

Brandi made her little quilts with 4 inch flannel squares, her quilts are approximately 20" X 20".
We back them with flannel and sew a X through the middle of the quilts.
(NICU Nurseries prefer flannel with no batting or ties)
I can't describe the JOY it is to watch her put these quilts together and get them
ready to send off to the NICU.

Brandi has been sewing for several years now, as well as sewing with
her Grandmother one day a week.
I think she is most happy when she is sewing for someone else.
She sews beautifully!
My youngest daughter and I have been the recipient of
beautiful creations that she has made for us!

Here she is taking the long walk through the halls of St. Joseph's Hospital with her brothers by her side.
Brandi's brothers have little comprehension of her courageous journey.
Girls are fighters, Girls are strong!

When we arrived at St. Joseph's Hospital, the memories came flooding back of our time at
St. Joseph's NICU.
I will never forget our experience there.
I'm a forever changed person.
My priorities shifted, my thoughts became more clear of what truly is important in life.
Life is Fragile!
Everyday is a gift!

Red White and Blue

Welcome Friends!
Create a little Red White and Blue!

Beautiful 4TH of July creations found here:

I saw this beautiful patriotic quilt at my nearby quilt shop. I immediately wanted to make it!
The best part about this quilt, the center flag is a panel measuring 15" X 22".
I love it even more!

Fabrics are by:  Liberty Ridge by Little Quilts/Henry Glass
The panel consists of two medium flags with two small flags!
You can also make place mats and a flag banner!

Kits and bundles of the complete collection of coordinating fabrics are available on their website: http://www.littlequilts.com
You can also order Liberty Ridge Fabrics from Quilting Bee.
 Love it!
Thank you for your feedback on the previous post.
I'm going to combine the Fall Season.
"Twelve Days of Fall"
Fun, Fun, Fun !
Tis The Season!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Monday!

Hello Monday......Spring is beautiful!
The temperatures are warm, the birds are singing, the skies are blue,
beautiful flowers are blooming!
My little daughter was marking her calendar yesterday with up and coming
events.  She quickly reminded me...... "It's The First Day Of Spring!"
I love her excitement for Spring!
Children are wonderful, they fill our world with Seasons of JOY!
Today on her calendar is a Teddy Bear Picnic.
She's been counting down for this fun day!
A beach towel, snacks, and a cute Teddy Bear are in the back pack!
What fun to be a First Grader!
I still remember my First Grade Teacher, she was a favorite!
My boys are excited for Spring Break and so am I!

I'm starting a new pattern! It's the baby doll bunting!
I love this pattern because it is filled with several fabrics.
You can welcome any season of colors and patterns.
I favor the bright and cheerful Spring and Summer colors for this pattern.
I will let you know when I have it completed!

We are going to make some of these during our Spring Break!
So simple, so pretty!
I'm going to use the flameless tea lights.
I'm going to fill the glasses with Jordan Almonds and chocolate Easter Eggs!
(I found the idea from Good Housekeeping Easter Crafts.)

"Here's the votive's version of Easter finery: these enchanting assemblages, crafted in seconds and guaranteed to dress up any holiday table. All you need are candles, ribbon, gerbera daisies, cordial glasses, and double-stick tape. Affix a length of ribbon around the metal rim of the votive. Snip off almost the entire stem of the flower, splay out the petals, and insert into the glass. Top each daisy with a lit candle. For a twinkling effect, place a glass at each setting."

Enjoy your beautiful Spring Day!
