Billy Ray Cyrus ... Robby Ray Stewart

Vanessa Williams ... Vita
Margo Martindale ... Ruby
Peter Gunn ... Oswald Granger
Melora Hardin ... Lorelai
Jared Carter ... Derrick

Katrina Smith ... Mayor's Wife

PLOT:

Hannah Montana: The Movie - filled with laughs, adventure, family fun and fabulous music! Come along for the ride and see Hannah like never before as she returns to her roots and faces the most important decision of her life!

When Miley Stewart (aka pop-star Hannah Montana) gets too caught up in the superstar celebrity lifestyle, her dad decides it's time for a total change of scenery. But sweet niblets! Miley must trade in all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood for some ol' blue jeans on the family farm in Tennessee, and question if she can be both Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana. With a little help from her friends - and awesome guest stars Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Vanessa Williams - will she figure out whether to choose Hannah or Miley?

Hannah Montana: The Movie is a heartfelt major motion picture perfect for the entire family.

Movie Review:

If you love the Hannah Montana Sitcom Series from Disney Channel, then you and your family will love this Movie!

It's perfect for children and grown-ups, alike.

Minor things that could be objectionable - two women fighting over a pair of high heel shoes - this is Hannah Montana and Tyra Banks. Thay are mainly grabbing and pulling. An alligator attempts to bite Jackson on his backside and an ostrich snaps at him. Miley is hit on the head with a volleyball.

Overall, it is a very decent Disney Movie. It may not be "Oscar" worthy, but it's a fun film for Family Movie Night.

Miley struggles throughout the movie to remember her roots of being Miley Stewart and struggling with the contrasting image and stardom of Hannah Montana. To help her along the way, is Travis, a boy she knew in Elementary School and Lily, who comes to visit and help her out with a Hannah Montana scheme.

Travis admits to Miley that he had a crush on her years ago, yet, it is easy to see they both like each other now- as they have fun working together on Miley's Grandmother's farm.

Hannah Montana: The Movie

There are varoius songs throughout the movie, sung by Hannah Montana and others. My favorite songs in the movie are:

Rascal Flatts - God Bless the Broken Road
Billy Ray Cyrus - Back to Tennessee
Taylor Swift - Crazier
Miley Cyrus - The Climb

The Movie is filled with lighthearted comedy and some slapstick humor. Like I said above, if you enjoy the sitcom series... you'll LOVE this, too!

I thought it was sweet movie. I enjoyed all the beautiful scenery of the farm and horses filmed in the beautiful state of Tennessee... specifically Columbia, Tennessee!

PLOT:

From the revolutionary minds of Pixar Animation Studios and the acclaimed director of Monsters, Inc. comes a hilariously uplifting adventure where the sky is no longer the limit.

Carl Fredricksen, a retired balloon salesman, is part rascal, part dreamer who is ready for his last chance at high-flying excitement. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, Carl sets off to the lost world of his childhood dreams. Unbeknownst to Carl, Russell, an overeager 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer who has never ventured beyond his backyard, is in the wrong place at the wrong time - Carl's front porch! The world's most unlikely duo reach new heights and meet fantastic friends like Dug, a dog with a special collar that allows him to speak, and Kevin, the rare 13-foot tall flightless bird. Stuck together in the wilds of the jungle, Carl realizes that sometimes life's biggest adventures aren't the ones you set out looking for.

Movie Review:

Up is cute, funny, sad, exciting, odd, sweet, and heartwarming!

From the start, I adored Carl, the retired balloon salesman and Russell, the adorable 8 year old Wilderness Explorer.

The movie begins with Carl, as a little boy, excited with adventure! He's at the movies watching his hero Charles Muntz on the big screen.

Then he meets Ellie, another dreamer and great adventurer, who has an adventure book of all the things she wants to do in the future. This is very sweet... They grow up together as children and when they get older, they marry. They dream of having children together, but they learn from the doctor that it just won't be. This is a sad moment. Carl and Ellie go on with their lives and grow older. Eventually, Ellie is not well, and she soon passes away - leaving Carl, all alone in their little house. This was realistic, yet sad, for an animation.

Russell, the adorable 8 year old Wilderness Explorer, shows up at Carl's door on the day that Carl is supposed to be taken off to an 'old people home', however Carl has schemed to attach thousands of helium balloons to his home- enough that his home is lifted off it's foundation and flies through the air making it past tall buildings and enduring through storms. Russell is on the porch as the house flies through the air - so Carl has no choice but to welcome Russell in and let him join him on his adventure.

Carl and Russell become close along their journey. Russell reveals that his father isn't there for him much and perhaps, he didn't rightfully earn all the wilderness badges on his uniform. Carl feels for the boy and is protective of him. Along the way, they meet a friendly bird, who likes chocolate. Russell names the bird Kevin and they meet a sweet dog, who has this collar that talks for him. This, I felt, was a bit odd, however, it is a cartoon. Kevin and the sweet talking dog, care for and protect Carl and Russell.

What is really strange, was yet to come... Carl and Russell reach Paradise Falls, only to come face to face with Carl's childhood hero, the explorer Charles Muntz. They soon learn he is an evil man - consumed with capturing and killing Kevin, to prove that he discovered this new species.

Carl and Russell work together to protect Kevin and save each other- amongst the evil Charles Muntz and his pack of mean dogs, who also fly airplanes and shoot weapons at them.

There are such sweet moments between Carl and Russell and heartwarming moments where Carl remembers his life with Ellie and their dream of making it to South America to Paradise Falls. The main characters are truly likable and I enjoyed the flying house with the thousand ballons attached. What great imaginations they have at Disney. UP is sweet and sad... I laughed, I almost cried. Sad moments were quickly picked up by lighthearted scenes.

One of the best moments, is when Carl shows up at Russell's Wilderness Caremony, at the end of the movie, to pin on his "helping the elderly" badge. Only, he doesn't give him a regular wilderness badge, instead he gives him a bottle cap pin that Ellie had given Carl, when they were children. It's a precious, sentimental scene to end the movie.

See or Skip:

All in all, I say See this one. It's a sweet and sentimental Disney Animation - it's entertaining to Children and Adults. There are great lessons to learn about loving and caring for others.

The captivating real-life story of a girl who dared to live her dream.

Everyone will cheer Walt Disney Pictures' presentation of this captivating real-life story of Sonora Webster's determination and courage. A runaway orphan, young Sonora (Gabrielle Anwar) persists in a menial job mucking stables in Doc Carver's traveling stunt show. Her great wish is to become a death-defying "diving girl," but Doc (Cliff Robertson) refuses her pleas. Undaunted, Sonora's gutsy resolve finally convinces him to give her a break. On the brink of stardom, however, a cruel twist of fate threatens to destroy her dream. With the help of a loving friend, Al Carver (Michael Schoeffling), Sonora proves that if you want something badly enough, anything is possible!

Movie Review:

This is one of those captivating movies, that once you begin watching it - you just can't take your eyes off of it... it is truly beautiful and inspiring!

Young Sonora, finds herself on her own at a young age. Her parents have passed away and an Aunt has taken her in, as well as her little sister. There is a depression going on, though, so money is tight. When her aunt tells her she is giving her over to the state, Sonora runs away and applys to Doc Carver, a showman, to be his new Diving Girl. (this act entails diving a horse off a forty foot tower into a pool of water!) She dreams of going to Atlantic City and living a life of adventure! He doesn't think she has what it takes, mainly beauty, but he must admire her spunk, because he takes pity on her and gives her a job cleaning the horse stalls.

In time, Sonora and Doc's son, Al, grow fond of one another while caring for the horses and breaking a wild horse together, however Al and his father disagree over how to run the business and Al leaves. While he is gone, he writes Sonora nearly everyday, however those letters never reach her, because his father destroys or hides them.

The show goes on, in spite of Al's absense, and Sonora continues to travel on to each new city. When the opportunity arrives, Sonora finally gets her chance to be a "Diving Girl". She has trained for it and it is her dream. She doesn't quite fit into the suit or the role, just yet, but after her first dive- she is elated! Sonora eventually becomes their official Diving Girl.

Al returns where dreams come true, Atlantic City, and life changes again. He and his father make ammends and eventually... Al and Sonora find true love, even through hardship and life's struggles. It's a story of determination and courage. Once you see it, you will never forget it... it's beautiful and captivating - a Disney Gem!

I recall seeing this movie years ago, as a young girl who loves horses. I still find it to be just as moving and inspirational, as it was then!

This Movie is based on a True Story.
