"ANDY HARDY" Movie Marathon Day on TCM

December 16, 2010 ~ Thursday:

If you love Mickey Rooney,
then you will love TCM (Turner Classic Movies) Today!!!

Today is ANDY HARDY schemes, girlfriends, money mix-ups, car troubles, friendships, adventures, and the best family movie moments!

They are family friendly movies that can't be beat! And, one is even Christmas, LOVE FINDS ANDY HARDY. Hopefully you can record it - because it airs tonight at 2:30 AM to 4:15 AM.

This movie includes all the joyful and lighthearted antics of Andy Hardy into one film! Andy has trouble with his girlfriend Polly and his friend Beezy, plus trouble buying his car, and well, everything is a mess, but somehow or other... it all works out in the end... because Andy has a very supportive family and very kind father, Judge Hardy. This film also includes the introduction of Judy Garland into the movie series, too... so it really is a gem and a fun Christmas Story of Andy having too many dates to the Christmas Dance! So Cute - you'll adore the ending!

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Also, don't forget the premiere of Gift of the Magi - tonight on the Hallmark Channel!

Happy Birthday Mickey Rooney - September 23, 2010!!!

Actor, Mickey Rooney was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 23, 1920!

Happy 90th Birthday, Mickey!!!

He's been acting since he was a very young child and today, TCM honors Mickey Rooney's Movie Career, on his Birthday, with a Movie Marathon! (Two are Andy Hardy films!) See the list below...

Mickey Rooney: The Long and the Short of ItOf all the great actors, Mickey Rooney is one of my absolute favorites! In my opinion, he's at the very top with greats like Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, and Van Johnson. I've adored Mickey since the very first time I watched an Andy Hardy movie... he was sweet, he was innocent, he was energetic and real, and best of all, fun! And today, he still lights up the screen in whatever character he portrays!

Happy Fathers Day Weekend + Great Father Movies to Watch!!!

Whether you spend this Fathers Day weekend... going to Church, Golfing, Grilling, Playing Horseshoe, Checkers, Watching a Movie, or just Talking over Lunch or on the Phone... if you are blessed to be together, then Sharing Time with your Father on Father's Day is Greater than any Gift, especially Ties!!! (I know because I asked mine - and like most Fathers, he'd much rather have Tools!)

If you have a chance to sit back and relax... may I suggest these four TV Movies:

1. )

Dad's Home - *NEW - Premieres this Week-end on the Hallmark Channel! Stars David James Elliott from JAG. It's about a workaholic ad agency executive who has lost his wife and is then fired from his job. He soon becomes a full-time Mr. Mom and begins to realize what he has been missing by not balancing his career and family life.

This Movie Premieres among other great Hallmark Father Movies, including... Wedding Daze and Come Dance at my Wedding.

2. )

Andy Hardy's Double Life (1942) - VHS - I adore Mickey Rooney in ALL of the Andy Hardy Films. When they all become available on DVD - I'll be first in line!

There is something so beautiful and special about the Hardy Family - and I adore Andy's relationship, most of all, with his Father (played by Lewis Stone), the Judge, who always gives good sound wisdom and advice.

All of the Hardy films have within them - great Father & Son Moments.

The Hardy Family

Father of the Bride (Keepcase)3. )

Father Of The Bride (1950) - DVD - A terrific story about a Father's feelings while his little girl plans and gets married! (I adore the Steve Martin & Kimberly Williams-Paisley Father of the Bride version, though this one is good, too!) This original 1950 version stars Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor.

4. )

Life with Father (1947) - DVD - an outstanding insight into the life of this very interesting family and of course, their strict Father, played by William Powell. The Mother is portrayed by Irene Dunne, who I also love in I Remember Mama, a wonderful Mothers Day Movie!
