PLOT:
In Call Me Mrs. Miracle, it's Christmas in New York City and Mrs. Merkle (Roberts) is a sassy saleswoman in a family-owned department store that could use a little holiday magic. She gets to work quickly selling the season's expected hot toy, the SuperRobot, for her new boss, Jake, who is micromanaged by his dad, JR.
But before long, she has things under control at the store but is also helping along a romance with Jake and Holly, a beautiful assistant to a fashion designer who's the legal guardian to her nephew, Gabe. Mrs. Miracle still has a lot work ahead of her, but she's planning on a wonderful Christmas for all.
No one celebrates the holidays like Emily Merkle (Roberts) - Mrs. Miracle as she is known by some - who is back to ensure that this Christmas is the most magical and meaningful of all. When Mrs. Miracle appears as a seasonal employee in the toy department at the financially troubled Finley's Department Store, neither the store's owners, nor the customers, have any idea of the saintly events that are about to unfold. None of them can even say who hired Mrs. Merkle or where exactly she came from, but her illustrious and angelic spirit will dispel gloom, drive away misery, and prove that miracles happen every day, especially on Christmas. With Mrs. Miracle in charge of the holidays, toys fly off shelves, Finley's business is saved, and its owners and customers all find renewed faith in the spirit of Christmas. Yes, just when it seemed Christmas might not come at all this year, Finley's favorite employee proves they don't call her Mrs. Miracle for nothing!

Movie Review:
I know the reviews on this movie have been mixed. Those who read the book, didn't seem to enjoy it - as much as those who had not. I keep wondering why - because the movie was so cute. Was there something really great that happened in the book that didn't happen in the movie?
Anyway, I too, didn't read the book and I really enjoyed the movie. Doris Roberts, was such fun and mysterious again as Mrs. Miracle. I loved all the characters.... they had great chemistry!
The storyline was sweet, too...
Holly Wilson, a young aspiring fashion designer, has taken on the responsibility of caring for her nephew Gabe, while her brother is serving in the Military overseas.
Jake Findley, a young business man, has taken on the responsibility of running the toy department of his father's department store during what should be their greatest sales time of the year... Christmas!
In the meantime, Mrs. Miracle has come to work in the toy department of Findleys, bring them all together, and save Christmas!
This is truly a cute movie. I don't want to give any of the story away... but it is beautiful! It's truly touching how special the realtionship between father and son is shown in this movie, as well! Our family loved it!
Jake's father, J.R. has been avoiding Christmas since his wife passed away. This year he finally comes to terms with the past and decides not to run away anymore. He finally gives his son a gift that he and his mother were meant to give him years ago - a toy train. This is a beautiful moment, but where it ends up... is even more touching! Tissues needed!
It's a fun, precious story with a sweet, happy ending the entire family can enjoy together!
